Mexico
Mexico is a great destination, and has a lot to offer to travellers. Whether you decide to visit the beautiful beaches famous around the world, historical cities from the time of the Spanish colony and archeological sites of cultures such as the Maya, Olmeca and Azteca among others, beautiful national parks in deserts, mountains and forests, or just hang out in one of the modern cities, you will enjoy it.

Cancun
Cancun occupies an area of about 50,000 square kilometers that can best be described in two words: jungle and sea. Their white smooth sandy beaches and the infinite scales of blue give a wonderful landscape. And the natural beauties of Quintana Roo don end here, because the calm of the water on its surface becomes nonstop movement underwater, with its intricate coral forests are home to inestimable aquatic species.

Acapulco
You can admire in Acapulco a natural beauty environs; mountains give the access to the town, though not difficult to access particularly since the construction of a 2km long tunnel to the waterfront from the remote areas in the 1990s. An earlier effort to get the cooling sea breezes by cutting through the mountains a passage called the Abra de San Nicolas had some beneficial and comforting effect.

Cuernavaca
Cuernavaca is situated about 85 km. (50 miles) south of Mexico City on the M-95 highway and is truly in the heart of Mexico, and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful and culturally rich regions of the country. Cuernavaca is the capital city of the state of Morelos in Mexico. It is the municipal seat of the municipality of Cuernavaca.

Mexico City
Mexico City is the capital city of Mexico. It is the principal economic, industrial and cultural center in the country, and the most populous city with 8,720,916 inhabitants in 2005, sometimes considered the world's largest and most peopled city. On the other hand, forms a rough oval of about 60 by 40 kilometers, on the dry bed of Lake Texcoco, surrounded on three sides by tall mountains and volcanoes such as the Ajusco, the Popocatepetl and the Ixtlacihuatl.

Activities and Tours
Calakmul
You will find this incredibly impressive site in the biosphere reserve of Calakmul about 200 miles from the City of Campeche and 20 miles from the border of Guatemala. The reserve was created in 1989 and covers an area of approximately 180,000 acres, which is almost 13 percent of the total state territory.

Cascada de Basaseachi
The dramatic 246m (806ft) Cascada de Basaseachi is the highest waterfall in Mexico, and is especially spectacular in the rainy season it's worth the bumpy three hour drive and every footstep of the five hour hike there and back. If that sounds too daunting, the views of the falls from up on the rim aren't so bad either.

Cuarenta Casas
Cuarenta Casas archaeological zone is located in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico; is a very interesting place; in the cliff of "El Garabato" stream there is a series of caves, the most important one La Cueva de las Ventanas (the windows cave), because of its complex constructions.

Palenque
In the Jungle of Chiapas, nestled on a thickly wooded ridge, are the ancient ruins of Palenque (pah LEN keh); situated near a town of the same name. The town itself has no real attraction to speak of, but the nearby ancient Mayan city of Palenque is Mexico's most breath taking archaeological park: in our opinion, the best you'll find anywhere in Mexico, and a must see Mexico Experience.

El Tajin
North of Veracruz, is the town of Papantla. Just outside of Papantla are some mysterious and fascinating archaeological ruins: El Tajin. El Tajin has some very unusual structures. Over 150 buildings have been identified on the site, although so far, only around 20 have been excavated and restored.

Travel Tip and useful information
Climate
Mexico is made up of several different regions, each with its own type of seasonal weather, climate, altitude and terrain dictating what you will need to be prepared and comfortable. Generally, rains fall and temperatures rise from June through October, leaving November through May as the more temperate, drier season.

Transport
Mexico has a vast inter city bus system that offers inexpensive, timely and convenient transportation. Train travel can be safer and more enjoyable than a trip by bus, but considerably more expensive. As with bus service, we recommend you pay for the highest class of travel available. Primera Especial class is recommended for day trips and the top of the line Pullman compartments for overnight travel.

Time Zone
Standard time zone: UTC/GMT -6 hours

Currency and credit cards
The Mexican economy operates on the rise and fall of the Peso. While most businesses will accept foreign currency, especially US dollars, using pesos is your best bet. Credit cards are widely accepted, with Visa, MasterCard, and American Express being the most popular.

Safety and Security
In most of the cities, location is very important as security changes from place to place. Areas close to downtown (centro) are safer to walk at night, especially on the "Plaza", "Zocalo" or "Jardin" (main square) and areas nearby. Stay in populated areas, avoid poor neighborhoods, especially at night, and don't walk there at any time if you are alone.
